Camucia----18 x 18 oil $ 900

I passed this scene each morning I drove to Cortona to paint
So a seed of it was planted in my mind's eye;
On the penultimate day I knew I had to have a stab at it
or regret it forever!!!

Cortona Vista 18" x 18" $900

This was the scene calling; with Lago Trasemino in the distance ...
...and house-martins singing overhead;

PONTO VECHIO--- ---watercolour ----14" x 17"--sold
My favourite activity:
~Early morning-and walking thru the empty streets of Florence--
and dashing off a watercolour as the sun comes up;

I get so lost in the transcendental experience that as I wend my way back thru the same streets ;
I am in awe of these changes--
The stall holders and street vendors--(and pickpockets)- are all busy plying their trade
The hustle and bustle of life..ah.. I love these contrasts.

Via Ermo Celli.

Another early morning scene catches my breath en route to Saint Francis' cell at the hermitage;
This original oil measures 8" x 10" and is modestly priced at $450

This is the second version of a scene ,painted from Cortona; and the story?:

There is always a story;
Firstly I had had painter's block for months and I was wondering aimlessly in the hills above Cortona when quite unexpectedly a local man -Guiseppi - invited me in to look at some paintings!!!
"Tis not my job to question why"
Soon I found myself immersed in wonderful images and low and behold a flute of white wine was handed to me....
With no excuses left--the spell had been broken and I set off to find this scene at the next bend in the road; It .... It just jumped out at me;
I was "undermodelling" an image-- a composition of this scene--- when another
local--Margeerita---stopped and fell so madly in love with it (as unfinished as it was ) that I found the easiest way to continue my work was to present it to her; Then I began again and here is the result;
It measures 11" x 14" oil on canvas-----and is yours for $ 725
